Caption counter FAQ

What are the character limits for each social platform?
As of 2026 the primary caption/text limits are: X (Twitter) 280, Bluesky 300, Pinterest 500, Threads 500, Instagram 2,200, TikTok 2,200, LinkedIn 3,000, Telegram 4,096, YouTube description 5,000, and Facebook 63,206 characters.
How does the caption counter measure length?
It counts characters by Unicode code point, so an emoji counts as a single character — the way the platforms themselves treat most characters. It also counts words and detects hashtags so you can keep both in check.
Does the counter store or send my caption anywhere?
No. Counting happens entirely in your browser as you type — nothing is uploaded, saved, or sent to a server.
How many hashtags should I use?
It varies by platform and audience, but a focused set of relevant tags usually outperforms stuffing the maximum. The counter shows your hashtag count so you can keep it deliberate rather than excessive.
