Is this a real font I’m downloading?

No. Nothing is installed and no font file is created. Each “style” maps your letters to a different set of existing Unicode characters, so the result is ordinary text you can paste anywhere — not an image and not a custom font.

Will this fancy text work everywhere on YouTube?

Mostly, yes — it is plain Unicode text, so it displays wherever YouTube accepts text input. Very old devices or fonts can show a missing-character box for rarer styles like Double-Struck or Script, so it is worth previewing before you rely on it for something important.

Are these Unicode styles accessible to screen readers?

Not the same way normal text is. Many screen readers read Mathematical Alphanumeric Symbols one letter at a time, announce a symbol name instead of the letter, or skip them entirely — so avoid fancy styles for anything a reader depends on understanding, like a button label or instructions.

Does the generator store or send my text anywhere?

No. Conversion happens entirely in your browser as you type — nothing is uploaded, logged or saved anywhere.

Why do some letters look different from the rest of a style?

A handful of code points in these styles were left unassigned in Unicode because an equivalent character already existed elsewhere, for example italic lowercase “h” and several Double-Struck and Script capitals. This tool substitutes the correct existing character for those letters instead of producing a broken symbol.

Worked examples

Bold text is four different letters, not a style

Converting “Sked” to bold produces the four Unicode characters 𝐒, 𝐤, 𝐞, 𝐝, starting at code point U+1D400 — four distinct letters, not the word “Sked” with a bold style layered on top.

Not every style has a digit set

Only Bold, Double-Struck, Monospace, Circled and Fullwidth have digits in Unicode. Typing “2026” in Italic or Script leaves the digits as plain text, because no italic “2” exists to convert it to.
