SkedCast vs Planable

SkedCast vs Planable: which fits agencies?

Planable is the best client-approval experience in this category, and it is not close. Content sits in a feed that looks like the finished post, clients leave comments pinned to the words they mean, and approvals move in visible steps. Its pricing is also genuinely kind to teams: every tier includes unlimited users, so adding people never raises the bill. Where the two products diverge is what the bill DOES scale with — Planable charges per workspace, and an agency’s workspaces are its clients.

Where Planable shines

  • The strongest approval workflow in the category — multi-level approvals, in-context comments, and a feed that previews the real post
  • Clients can review and approve from a shared link without creating an account
  • Unlimited users on every tier: your bill never grows because the team did
  • A free tier of 50 posts with no time limit and no card, which is a real evaluation, not a teaser
  • Nine networks including Threads and Google Business Profile

Where SkedCast fits better

  • Pricing that scales with accounts, not with client count — Planable bills per workspace, so ten clients means ten workspaces
  • No monthly post ceiling on any paid plan: Planable’s Basic and Pro tiers cap at 60 and 150 posts per workspace per month
  • True bulk import — up to 2,500 posts per upload on Agency — from CSV, Sheets, or AI, with validate-and-fix before anything commits
  • Drop a folder of media and turn it into a scheduled campaign
  • Up to 500 connected accounts per agency, against 4, 10 or 50 social pages per Planable workspace
  • Hybrid connect: influencers self-link by OAuth, or your staff connect on their behalf — passwords are never stored
  • Anti-ban pacing with per-account cadence, and a managed quota-aware app pool with no developer setup
  • Analytics is included rather than a paid add-on on top of the tier price

Why teams switch from Planable

One dashboard rolls reach, engagement, and growth up across every account and network — instead of stitching native dashboards together.

Teams rarely leave Planable because they dislike it — they leave because of arithmetic. The per-workspace model is excellent value for one brand or a handful of clients, and it inverts as you grow: every new client is another workspace at full price, and the post ceiling on Basic and Pro starts to bind exactly when a client gets busy. Analytics and the social inbox are add-ons charged per workspace too, so the real monthly figure is usually above the sticker. SkedCast prices by connected accounts and leaves posting uncapped on any paid plan, which is why the gap widens with scale rather than at signup. If approvals are the centre of your service and you run a small number of clients, Planable is a defensible choice and we would say so.

SkedCast vs Planable: FAQ

Is Planable priced per user or per workspace?
Per workspace. Every Planable tier includes unlimited users, which is genuinely better than the per-seat pricing Hootsuite and Sprout Social charge. The trade-off is that an agency’s workspaces are its clients: Basic is $33 per workspace per month and Pro is $49, so ten client workspaces on Pro is $490 a month before add-ons. SkedCast prices by connected accounts instead, so client count does not multiply the bill.
Does Planable limit how many posts I can schedule?
Yes, on the lower tiers. Basic allows 60 posts per workspace per month and Pro allows 150; Enterprise is unlimited. That ceiling is per workspace, so a busy client can exhaust it while quieter ones go unused. SkedCast does not cap posting on any paid plan — only the Free tier has a daily ceiling, at 3 posts a day.
Which is better for client approvals, SkedCast or Planable?
Planable, if approvals are the whole job. Its feed previews the real post, comments pin to specific content, and external reviewers can approve from a link without an account. SkedCast has per-client roles and an approval gate with an immutable audit log, which is enough for most agency sign-off — but Planable’s review experience is richer.
Does Planable do bulk scheduling?
It has a CSV importer, but bulk is not what the product is built around — the monthly post ceilings on Basic and Pro bound how much volume a workspace can take at all. SkedCast imports up to 2,500 posts per upload on Agency, and up to 25,000 on Enterprise per upload from CSV, Google Sheets, or AI, validates them, lets you fix errors inline, and commits the batch.
Can I migrate from Planable to SkedCast?
Yes. Export your scheduled content to CSV, bulk-import it into SkedCast, then reconnect each client’s profiles by OAuth or with staff-on-behalf connect, grouped into per-client workspaces.
