Connect your Facebook Pages account to a social media scheduler (and fix connection problems)

Connect your Facebook Pages account to SkedCast, a social media scheduler, in a few steps. SkedCast publishes to Facebook Pages, never to a personal profile or timeline. Connecting takes an Admin or Editor role on the Page, and SkedCast pins the exact Page you connect so reconnecting later can’t silently swap in a different one.

Before you connect

  • An Admin or Editor role on the Facebook Page you want to connect — a personal profile cannot be connected directly.
  • If the Page is managed through a Business Manager / Business Portfolio, your access there needs to include that Page.

How to connect Facebook Pages

  1. 1In SkedCast, open Connected Accounts, choose Connect, then Facebook Pages — or send the account owner an invite link to connect it themselves.
  2. 2Sign in to the Facebook account that administers the Page, and approve the requested permissions — see the exact scopes on the Facebook integration page.
  3. 3Pick the specific Page to connect from the list Facebook returns (only Pages you administer appear).
  4. 4SkedCast confirms the connection and shows the Page name and picture.

What can you publish to Facebook Pages once it is connected?

  • A caption of up to 63,206 characters, with or without media.
  • Images: up to 10 per post, JPG, PNG, up to 10 MB each.
  • Video: one per post, MP4, MOV, up to 10 GB each, up to 240 minutes long.
  • GIFs: up to 10 per post, GIF, up to 30 MB each.
  • Alt text on images, written in the composer.
  • A first comment, published right after the post.
  • Scheduling handed to Facebook Pages itself, which holds the post until its time.

Common connection problems

SkedCast says you’re not an admin of the selected Page.
Reconnecting is pinned to the exact Page you originally connected. If your Admin/Editor role on that Page was removed, ask a current admin to restore it, or connect a different Page you do administer.
Posts that were publishing fine suddenly fail with an authorization error.
Facebook Page tokens are derived from a roughly 60-day user token, which can expire or be revoked (a password change, a permissions review, or a Business Manager change can all trigger this). Reconnect the Page from Connections to refresh it.
Connections shows "no token on file" for Facebook.
This means the stored connection was cleared entirely — either disconnected in SkedCast or revoked from Facebook’s side. Reconnect from scratch; there’s nothing to repair, only to redo.

FAQ

Can SkedCast post to my personal Facebook profile?
No. Facebook’s own API only allows apps like SkedCast to publish to Pages, not personal profiles or timelines. Connect the Page you manage instead.
What Page role do I need to connect Facebook?
Admin or Editor. Roles with narrower access (Moderator, Advertiser, Analyst) cannot authorize a publishing connection.
Can a client connect their own Facebook Pages account without sharing a password?
Yes. Send the account owner an invite link from SkedCast. They sign in to Facebook Pages themselves and approve the connection, so their password never leaves their hands and you can start scheduling once it is connected.
What happens to scheduled posts if the Facebook Pages connection breaks?
They cannot publish until the account is reconnected. SkedCast shows each connection’s health and offers a one-click reconnect; after reconnecting, retry any post that failed in the meantime.
Can I connect more than one Facebook Pages account?
Yes. Connect each account separately; they all count toward your plan’s connected-account limit, and you can group them by client so each client’s posts stay apart.
