Before you connect
- A Pinterest Business account — convert a personal account for free in Pinterest’s settings if needed.
- At least one board already created on that account.
How to connect Pinterest
- 1In SkedCast, go to Settings → Connections and click Connect Pinterest.
- 2Sign in with your Pinterest Business account and approve the requested permissions.
- 3SkedCast pulls in your boards automatically — pick a default board or choose one per post later.
Common connection problems
- The board picker is empty.
- A pin must be assigned to a board, and the picker only lists boards that already exist on the connected account. Create at least one board on Pinterest, then refresh the connection in SkedCast.
- Pins fail with an authentication error.
- Pinterest access tokens expire (Pinterest has been moving accounts from long-lived tokens onto a 60-day expiry). Reconnect from Connections to refresh it.
- Connecting fails immediately, before you even reach permissions.
- This usually means the account is Personal, not Business — Pinterest’s API rejects personal accounts outright. Convert to a Business account in Pinterest’s own settings (it’s free), then try connecting again.

- Can I connect a personal Pinterest account?
- No. Pinterest’s publishing API requires a Business account. You can convert a personal account to Business for free directly in Pinterest’s settings without losing your existing pins or followers.
- Why does Pinterest need a board before I can schedule anything?
- Every pin on Pinterest is created onto a board — there’s no way to publish a pin without one, on Pinterest itself or through SkedCast.
