Connect your TikTok account to a social media scheduler (and fix connection problems)

Connect your TikTok account to SkedCast, a social media scheduler, in a few steps. Connecting TikTok is a standard OAuth sign-in, but what happens after you connect is shaped by TikTok’s own audit status for SkedCast’s app — not by anything in your account. Those limits are TikTok’s Content Sharing Guidelines, not a SkedCast restriction.

Before you connect

  • Any TikTok account can be connected — no special account type is required to authorize.
  • Be aware going in: while SkedCast’s TikTok app is unaudited, every post is forced to private (visible only to you) regardless of the visibility you choose, and at most 5 TikTok accounts total can be connected.

How to connect TikTok

  1. 1In SkedCast, go to Settings → Connections and click Connect TikTok.
  2. 2Sign in to TikTok and approve the requested permissions.
  3. 3SkedCast confirms the connection with your TikTok username and profile picture.
  4. 4Before your first scheduled post, check the visibility setting SkedCast shows — while unaudited, it will show as private-only, which is TikTok’s restriction, not a bug.

Common connection problems

Posts publish as private even though Public was selected.
TikTok forces every post from an unaudited app to private (SELF_ONLY) visibility, no matter what’s selected in SkedCast. This is TikTok’s own Content Sharing Guidelines restriction on unaudited apps, not a connection problem — it will resolve once SkedCast’s app passes TikTok’s audit.
A permissions/scope error keeps happening even after reconnecting.
If the error is specifically about a scope not being authorized, reconnecting mints the same scope set and won’t change the outcome — that’s controlled by TikTok’s audit status, not your session. Reconnecting only helps for a genuinely expired access token.
A 6th TikTok account won’t connect.
Unaudited TikTok apps are capped at 5 connected accounts. Disconnect an account you’re not using to free up a slot, or wait for the audit to complete.
