What are X’s hashtag rules?
On X, a hashtag indexes a post by keyword so it shows in search and beside other posts using the same tag. X’s help centre sets these rules:

How many hashtags should you use on X?
One or two. X recommends no more than two per post, and every tag spends characters from the 280, so pick the ones people actually search: a niche tag for the exact topic, or the tag of an event or community you are joining. Hashtags can go anywhere in the post, so one can sit inside the sentence. Check the count with the X character counter, and compare every network in the hashtag limits by platform.
