LinkedIn engagement rate calculator

This LinkedIn engagement rate calculator works out your LinkedIn engagement rate from your followers, likes, comments, shares and number of posts, using the standard formula: (likes + comments + shares) ÷ (followers × posts) × 100. It is the exact same calculator as our general engagement rate calculator, just framed for LinkedIn search intent — what counts as a good rate still depends on the platform, your audience size and your niche, so compare your own result against your own past posts and similar accounts rather than one fixed number.

How to use the LinkedIn engagement rate calculator

  1. Enter your LinkedIn followers. Use your current LinkedIn follower or audience count for the account you are measuring.
  2. Add likes, comments and shares. Copy the totals for the period straight from LinkedIn’s own analytics or insights screen.
  3. Enter the number of posts. Count how many LinkedIn posts you published in that same period; the rate is an average per post.
  4. Read the rate. The result updates as you type: total engagements and the engagement rate as a percentage, with the formula shown underneath.
  5. Compare like with like. Use the same period length and the same method every time you check it, then compare against your own earlier LinkedIn results.

Worked examples

8,000 LinkedIn followers, 8 posts

640 likes + 96 comments + 64 shares = 800 engagements. 800 ÷ (8,000 × 8) = 0.0125, so the LinkedIn engagement rate is 1.25% per post.

One LinkedIn post that took off

A single post with far more likes than the rest lifts the whole period’s average; run the calculator again on the other 7 posts alone to see a more typical LinkedIn rate.

LinkedIn engagement rate FAQ

How do you calculate LinkedIn engagement rate?
This calculator uses engagement rate by followers: (likes + comments + shares) ÷ (followers × posts) × 100, applied to whatever numbers you enter from LinkedIn.
What is a good LinkedIn engagement rate?
It varies by platform, audience size and niche, so there is no single fixed number that applies everywhere; compare your LinkedIn result against your own past posts and similar accounts instead.
Is this calculator built specifically for LinkedIn?
The formula is the same for every platform, so this is the same calculator as our general engagement rate tool, framed here for LinkedIn search intent and questions.
Should I use followers or reach as the denominator?
This tool uses followers, the most widely reported method and the number you always have on hand; engagement rate by reach is also valid but needs reach data from each post’s analytics.
Does the calculator store my LinkedIn numbers?
No, the calculation happens entirely in your browser as you type; nothing you enter is uploaded, saved, or sent to a server.
Can I calculate the rate for a single LinkedIn post?
Yes, enter that post’s likes, comments and shares, your followers, and 1 for the number of posts, to see that post’s engagement as a share of your followers.
