Social media checker tools

SkedCast’s free social media checkers test a post before it goes out: hashtag, character and video limits, media specs, alt text, readability, link previews and handles, each against the networks’ published rules. They run in your browser with no sign-up, and SkedCast’s composer runs the limit checks again when you schedule.

How do you use this hub?

  1. Pick what you need to check. Scan the cards below for the checker that matches your question — a limit, a spec, an accessibility scan or a preview.
  2. Open the tool. Click through to run it — every checker works standalone with its own inputs and its own page.
  3. Paste or enter your own content. Most checkers work from text, numbers or HTML you paste in yourself, not a live fetch from a URL.
  4. Read the result against the real limit. Each result is checked against a sourced, current platform limit, not an assumption carried over from memory.
  5. Bookmark the ones you use often. Hashtag and posting limits change occasionally, so revisit the specific checker rather than relying on a remembered number.

What does it look like in practice?

Checking a caption with 12 hashtags

Paste it into the hashtag counter and it checks all 12 against every network’s limit at once, flagging Threads, which takes 1 topic tag, without counting by hand.

Previewing a shared link before you post it

Paste a page's HTML source into the Open Graph preview and see its title, description and image rendered as one mockup card, the same way most platforms would show it.

Do you need to run these checks before scheduling in SkedCast?

Not for the limits. SkedCast’s composer checks every post against each network’s character, hashtag and media rules as you write, and flags a problem before the post is scheduled. The checkers are for planning, for content made outside SkedCast, and for questions like a link preview or a time-zone change. For every network’s numbers on one page, see the character limits guide and media specs; for formulas instead of limits, the full list of free tools.

Checkers hub FAQ

What is the difference between the checkers and the calculators hub?
The checkers hub covers limits, specs and validation; the calculators hub covers formulas like engagement rate, ROI and profit margin instead.
Do any of these tools fetch a live URL?
No — none of them have a backend to do that from, so every checker works from text, numbers or pasted HTML you provide directly.
Are these checkers free and do they require an account?
Yes — every tool on this page is free with no sign-up, and each one runs entirely in your browser.
How often are the platform limits on these pages updated?
Each checker states its own review date at the bottom of the page, since different platforms change their limits on different schedules.
Can I use these checkers without using SkedCast itself?
Yes — every tool here works standalone for anyone, whether or not you use SkedCast to actually schedule your posts.
Is there a hub for calculators too?
Yes — the calculators hub covers engagement rate, ROI, budget, CPM, agency pricing and several other social media formulas.
