How to read the matrix
- Find your platform’s column. Scan down the column for the network you are publishing to and check which post types show a yes.
- Treat a partial mark carefully. A partial mark means the platform supports the feature but with a real restriction, such as only one hashtag becoming a link on Threads.
- Check native scheduling specifically. Only Facebook and YouTube let a scheduler hand the post directly to the platform’s own scheduler — every other platform relies on a third-party tool firing the post on time.
- Cross-check with the media spec checker. A yes for video support still has its own format, size and duration ceiling, covered separately on the media spec checker.
- Remember this reflects what a scheduler can publish. Some platforms support a feature in their own app that a publishing API does not expose — this matrix reflects what is available through the API a scheduler like SkedCast actually uses.
Worked examples
Publishing a carousel
A multi-image carousel works on Instagram (up to 10 items), LinkedIn (up to 20), Threads (up to 20), Pinterest (2 to 5) and TikTok’s photo mode (up to 35) — Facebook, X, Bluesky and Telegram cap a post at fewer combined items and do not offer a distinct carousel post type.
Native scheduling on Facebook
A Facebook Page post can be handed directly to Facebook’s own scheduler with a publish time 10 minutes to 75 days out — YouTube is the only other platform with an equivalent native scheduling window.
