A partial mark means the platform supports the shape with a real restriction — see the FAQ below for what each one means. Reflects what each platform’s official publishing API exposes today, not necessarily every feature available inside that platform’s own app.

How to read the matrix

  1. Find your platform’s column. Scan down the column for the network you are publishing to and check which post types show a yes.
  2. Treat a partial mark carefully. A partial mark means the platform supports the feature but with a real restriction, such as only one hashtag becoming a link on Threads.
  3. Check native scheduling specifically. Only Facebook and YouTube let a scheduler hand the post directly to the platform’s own scheduler — every other platform relies on a third-party tool firing the post on time.
  4. Cross-check with the media spec checker. A yes for video support still has its own format, size and duration ceiling, covered separately on the media spec checker.
  5. Remember this reflects what a scheduler can publish. Some platforms support a feature in their own app that a publishing API does not expose — this matrix reflects what is available through the API a scheduler like SkedCast actually uses.

What does it look like in practice?

Scheduling a poll

A poll can be scheduled on X or LinkedIn — just 2 of the 11 platforms in this matrix — but the same poll idea has no equivalent field on Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube, Threads, Pinterest, Bluesky, Telegram or Google Business Profile.

Publishing a carousel

A multi-image carousel works on Instagram (up to 10 items), LinkedIn (up to 20), Threads (up to 20), Pinterest (2 to 5) and TikTok’s photo mode (up to 35) — Facebook, X, Bluesky and Telegram cap a post at fewer combined items and do not offer a distinct carousel post type.

Native scheduling on Facebook

A Facebook Page post can be handed directly to Facebook’s own scheduler with a publish time 10 minutes to 75 days out — YouTube is the only other platform with an equivalent native scheduling window.

Which platforms support Stories?
Instagram and Facebook support Stories as a distinct post type. Threads, Bluesky, LinkedIn, Pinterest and Telegram have no Stories format at all, and X, TikTok and YouTube do not expose Stories through their publishing APIs either.
Which platforms support polls?
X and LinkedIn support polls through their publishing APIs. Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube, Threads, Pinterest, Bluesky and Telegram do not offer a poll post type through their APIs.
Which platforms support a genuine carousel post?
Instagram, LinkedIn, Threads, Pinterest and TikTok (as a photo post) all support a multi-item carousel, each with its own item-count ceiling, from Pinterest’s 5 images up to TikTok’s 35.
Which platforms let you schedule natively, on the platform itself?
Facebook and YouTube are the only two platforms with a genuine native scheduling window; every other platform in this matrix relies on a third-party scheduler like SkedCast to fire the post at the right time.
Do any platforms support document or PDF posts?
LinkedIn and Telegram both support document attachments — PDF, DOCX and PPTX on LinkedIn, and any file type on Telegram. The other 8 platforms in this matrix do not support document posts.
Which platforms support a first-comment feature?
Most platforms in this matrix support an automatic first comment after publish, including X, LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Threads, Bluesky and Telegram — Pinterest and TikTok do not offer it.
Is this matrix the same as what each platform allows natively?
