Before you connect
- A Google account with a YouTube channel — either a personal channel or a Brand Account both work.
- If more than one person needs access without sharing your Google login, a Brand Account with delegated managers is the better fit.
How to connect YouTube
- 1In SkedCast, go to Settings → Connections and click Connect YouTube.
- 2Sign in with the Google account tied to the channel, and approve the requested permissions — see the exact scopes on the YouTube integration page.
- 3If that Google account owns more than one channel, pick the exact channel to connect from Google’s account chooser.
- 4SkedCast confirms the connection and shows the channel name.
Common connection problems
- Uploads fail with an invalid or expired token.
- Google can revoke a refresh token after a long period of inactivity or certain account security events. Reconnect the channel from Connections to get a fresh one.
- Reconnecting attached the wrong channel.
- A single Google account can own several channels or Brand Accounts. When reconnecting, make sure you explicitly pick the intended channel in Google’s account/channel chooser — signing in with the right Google account alone isn’t enough if it owns more than one channel.
- A video marked "Publish as a Short" doesn’t show up as a Short.
- SkedCast checks the video is vertical and 3 minutes or under before uploading, but YouTube makes the final Short/long-form classification itself after processing — there’s no dedicated "Shorts" upload endpoint to force it either way. This isn’t a connection problem.

- This happens when the Google account you signed in with owns multiple channels and the wrong one was picked in Google’s own chooser during connect. Reconnect and select the correct channel explicitly.
