A long post on TikTok
TikTok does not fold the text behind "…more", so a 280-character post shows in full; the hard stop is 2,200 characters.
To write a TikTok caption, type what the post is about and this generator gives several caption starters, each built as a short, punchy, hook-first line built for the first second of a video. They come from templates, not AI, so pick the one closest to your voice, add your own details and links, then post or schedule it. TikTok posts take up to 2,200 characters.
Type what the video is about and pick the line closest to your voice, then edit it.

2,200 characters when the caption is posted by an app, which is how every scheduler posts. TikTok’s developer documentation says a video caption’s maximum length is 2,200, and that hashtags and mentions in it are recognised where spaces or new lines separate them. The TikTok app itself accepts longer captions, but TikTok does not document that figure:
| Where you post | Caption limit | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Posted by an app or scheduler (TikTok’s API) | 2,200 characters | TikTok for Developers |
| Typed in the TikTok app | Longer; commonly reported as 4,000 characters | Not documented by TikTok |
| Scheduled in SkedCast | 2,200 characters, hashtags and mentions included | SkedCast’s TikTok rules |

Lead with the reason to keep watching, because viewers see only the first line or two before the caption folds. A caption that works usually has:
Yes. This free generator uses caption templates, so its suggestions are a starting point you edit. Inside SkedCast’s composer, AI drafts a caption from your idea and rewrites one you have written, and you can keep a separate caption for each network, with 25 AI credits a month on the free plan. Read every AI caption before it goes out: you know your audience and your product better than any model.
The limits SkedCast’s composer checks for TikTok before a post goes out, read from the same rules table the composer uses.

| Links in the text | No link-preview card |

| Feed crop | 9:16 in the feed preview |
| Images | up to 35 per post · JPEG, WEBP, PNG |

Type a topic like "spring collection launch" once and get 6 to 8 different TikTok caption starters built from that same topic — a question hook, a bold claim and more.
In SkedCast, add a video or a photo carousel of up to 35 images, write or paste the caption, and pick a time. SkedCast checks the caption against TikTok’s 2,200-character limit while you type and shows a preview of the post, so nothing is cut off when it publishes. See the TikTok scheduler for every TikTok option.
