How do you use the Threads post preview?
- Paste your Threads caption. Type or paste your draft Threads caption into the box; nothing you type is uploaded anywhere.
- Add an image URL (optional). Paste a public image URL to see it in the mockup frame, or leave it blank to preview the caption alone.
- Confirm Threads is selected. This page opens with Threads selected; switch platforms in the tabs above the preview to compare.
- Read the truncation point. The preview greys out the part of the caption that falls past Threads’s real "more" cutoff, so you can see what a scrolling reader sees before they tap through.
- Move your hook earlier if it is cut off. If your key message or call to action falls in the greyed-out part, move it earlier in the caption so it survives the cutoff.
What are the Threads rules to know?
Threads crops media to 4:5 in the feed and takes video up to 5 minutes. The limits SkedCast’s composer checks for Threads before a post goes out, read from the same rules table the composer uses.

Good to know
- Threads carousels are images-only — a video posts alone, never inside a carousel.
- Threads has no native scheduling — SkedCast controls the publish time.
- Threads links only one hashtag per post; extra hashtags appear as plain text and still eat into your 500 characters.
- Threads has no Stories, no documents/PDF posts, and no separate title field.
- Polls and reply-threads cannot be composed through SkedCast.

Threads’s feed post shows roughly the first 175 characters before "… more" appears. The feed cuts a post at roughly 175 characters, depending on line breaks, before "… more" appears — well short of Threads' 500-character post limit, so writing for the cut matters more than writing for the cap.
A caption that survives the cutoff
A 320-character caption with its hook in the first 80 characters reads completely for a scrolling Threads viewer even though the rest is hidden behind "… more".
