What text styles does Telegram support?
Bold, italic, underline, strikethrough, spoiler, monospace, code blocks, links and quotes. Each one is written three ways: the marker you type in Telegram Desktop, MarkdownV2 for bots, and HTML for bots:

Does Telegram formatting work on every app?
The Format menu does: select the text in any Telegram app, on a phone, the web or a computer, and pick bold, italic, underline, strikethrough, spoiler, monospace, a link or a quote. The typed markers are a Telegram Desktop feature, defined in its own message box, which turns **text** into bold as you send. Underline, links and quotes have no typed marker, so use the menu for those. For other looks, such as bold letters in a bio, the fancy font generator swaps in Unicode characters that show everywhere.
How do Telegram bots format messages?
With a parse mode on each message. MarkdownV2 uses single markers, *bold*, _italic_ and ~strikethrough~, with double underscores for underline, and every reserved character outside a style (_ * [ ] ( ) ~ ` > # + - = | { } . !) must be escaped with a backslash. HTML uses tags such as <b>, <tg-spoiler> and <blockquote>, with <, > and & written as entities. The older Markdown mode has bold, italic, links and code only. A message holds 4,096 characters after the styles are parsed, and a photo caption 1,024.
How do you use the Telegram text formatting generator?
- Type the text you want styled. Enter the words you are about to send.
- Pick a style. Choose bold, italic, strikethrough, spoiler, monospace or code block.
- Copy the wrapped text. The tool wraps your text in the marker Telegram uses for that style.
- Paste it into Telegram Desktop. Paste into the message box and send; the markers turn into the style.
- Use the Format menu on other apps. On a phone or the web, select the text and pick the style from the Format menu instead.

How do you schedule formatted Telegram posts?

- Telegram Desktop converts the typed markers. On a phone, select the text after pasting and pick the style from the Format menu, which every Telegram app has.
- How do you underline text in Telegram?
- Select the text and choose Underline from the Format menu; there is no typed marker for it. A bot or scheduler writes __text__ in MarkdownV2 or <u>text</u> in HTML.
- Is this the same syntax Telegram bots use?
- No. Bots use the Bot API’s MarkdownV2, with single markers (*bold*, _italic_, ~strikethrough~) and reserved characters escaped with a backslash, or HTML tags such as <b> and <i>. The typed markers here are the app’s own.
- How do you schedule formatted Telegram posts?
