Best time to post by platform

A side-by-side summary of the general best-time-to-post benchmark for every one of the 10 platforms SkedCast schedules to, in one table, so you can compare platforms instead of opening each one separately. These are audience-agnostic starting points, the same benchmarks behind the full cheat sheet — your own audience’s activity always wins, which is what the personalized calculator and SkedCast’s per-account best-times feature are for.

Sources, read 23 September 2026: Buffer’s 2026 per-platform best-time studies (samples of 1.8 to 14 million posts, named on each row) and Sprout Social’s 2026 study (nearly 2 billion engagements across about 307,000 profiles, 27 November 2025 to 27 February 2026). These are averages across many accounts; there is no universal best time.

How to use the by-platform summary

  1. Scan the table. Every live platform gets one row: its general best days, best times, and a short note on why that window tends to work.
  2. Compare across platforms. Use the table to plan a cross-platform posting week at a glance, instead of checking each platform’s page in turn.
  3. Open the full cheat sheet for more detail. The best time to post cheat sheet carries the same benchmarks plus a visual heatmap and a longer explanation per platform.
  4. Personalize it to your account. The best-time calculator turns your own posting history into a personal recommendation instead of a general benchmark.
  5. Re-test periodically. Audience habits shift, so re-check a platform’s window every quarter against your own engagement data.

Worked examples

Planning a Tuesday across three platforms

On Tuesday, Buffer’s X data peaks at 9am while Sprout Social’s Instagram window opens at 1pm and its LinkedIn window at 11am — the table makes that stagger, and where the two studies disagree, visible in one look.

Evenings versus mornings

Buffer’s TikTok and YouTube Shorts data lean to the evening (6–11pm) while its Threads, Facebook and X data favour weekday mornings; Pinterest (Sprout Social) sits at 10am–1pm on Tuesday to Thursday, and Bluesky and Telegram have no published window — useful when building one posting schedule that spans every network.

Best time to post by platform FAQ

Is the best time to post the same on every platform?
No — each of the 10 platforms has its own general benchmark window, which is why this page compares them side by side instead of giving one universal answer.
Does this page cover all the platforms SkedCast supports?
Yes, all 10: X, Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube, Threads, Pinterest, Bluesky and Telegram.
Is there a per-platform best-time tool for each network separately?
Not as separate pages today — this hub and the full cheat sheet cover every platform together, and the personalized calculator works for any connected account regardless of platform.
How is this different from the best time to post cheat sheet?
Same underlying benchmarks, presented as a compact comparison table here instead of the cheat sheet’s per-platform cards and heatmap — use whichever layout is more useful for the task.
Where do these benchmark windows come from?
From Buffer’s 2026 per-platform best-time studies (1.8 to 14 million posts each) and Sprout Social’s 2026 study (nearly 2 billion engagements, 27 November 2025 to 27 February 2026), read on 23 September 2026 and named on each row. They are audience-agnostic averages, not a guarantee — the same figures used on the main cheat sheet.
How do I get a time based on my own audience instead of a general benchmark?
Use the personalized best-time calculator, or connect an account in SkedCast, where the best-times feature learns each account’s real engagement history.
