Keeping a caption clean
A post can carry a short caption while a longer set of hashtags or a link goes in the first comment instead, on any of the 6 platforms where it is live today.
Schedule a first comment
SkedCast can schedule a first comment to publish right after your post on most connected platforms — a real composer field, not a workaround. Support varies by platform: it works on Facebook, Instagram, Threads, LinkedIn, X, YouTube, Bluesky and Telegram; TikTok and Pinterest have no equivalent in their own APIs.

How to schedule a first comment
- Write your main post as usual. Compose the post itself first — the first comment is an optional addition, not a required field.
- Open the first-comment field in the composer. A dedicated field lets you add text that publishes as a comment immediately after the post itself.
- Check the target platform supports it. The composer shows or hides the field per selected platform, since TikTok and Pinterest do not support it.
- Schedule the post normally. The first comment publishes automatically right after the post itself, with no extra manual step at publish time.
What does it look like in practice?
Unsupported platform
A post scheduled to TikTok or Pinterest publishes without a first comment, since neither platform’s API supports adding one automatically.
First-comment FAQ
- Which platforms support a scheduled first comment on SkedCast?
- Facebook, Instagram, Threads, LinkedIn, X, YouTube, Bluesky and Telegram. TikTok and Pinterest do not support it in their own APIs.
- Why doesn’t TikTok support a first comment?
- TikTok’s own Content Posting API has no capability for adding a comment automatically after a post publishes.
- Is the first comment optional?
- Yes — it is an extra field in the composer, and a post publishes normally whether or not one is added.
- How long can a scheduled first comment be?
- Up to 5,000 characters, though each platform’s own comment length limit still applies on top of that.
- What happens if the first comment fails to post?
- The main post still publishes; a first-comment failure is reported separately rather than blocking the post itself.
- Can I add a first comment to a post that already published?
- The scheduled first-comment field is set before publishing; adding a comment to an already-published post has to be done manually on that platform.
