Social media posting schedule template

This posting schedule template — also usable as a general social media scheduler template — is the same content-calendar CSV generator as SkedCast’s general content calendar template, framed around a recurring weekly schedule: pick the weekdays and time you post, the platforms and pillars, and it turns that pattern into one row per slot for a whole month. It downloads as a CSV (the most portable option, and the one SkedCast’s own bulk import reads — no separate PDF or Word version) that opens directly in Excel or Google Sheets, or pastes cleanly into a Word table.

Posting days

Local wall-clock time for every slot. Adjust individual rows in your spreadsheet.

Platforms

Optional. Written into the Account column of every row.

Separate with commas. The pillars rotate across your posting days so consecutive posts cover different themes.

Your calendar preview

Choose a month to build your calendar.

The file also has empty Caption, Media URL, First comment and Hashtags columns, plus a Status column starting at “Idea”, ready to fill in.

How to build a recurring posting schedule

  1. Decide your weekly rhythm. Pick the weekdays you can realistically sustain — three consistent days beats five inconsistent ones.
  2. Set one posting time. Choose a single posting time for the schedule; you can always adjust individual rows in your spreadsheet afterward.
  3. Tick your platforms. Select every platform this schedule applies to — the generator repeats each slot once per platform.
  4. List your content pillars. Enter the recurring themes that rotate across your posting days, so the same pillar does not repeat back to back.
  5. Download and reuse it. Download the month as a CSV, fill in captions and media, and regenerate the same pattern again next month.

Worked examples

A 3-day-a-week schedule

Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 09:00 across Instagram and LinkedIn produces roughly 24-26 rows for a 30-day month — 12-13 slots per platform.

Same pattern, next month

Because the schedule is defined by weekday and not by date, generating next month takes one click: change the month, keep every other setting the same.

Posting schedule template FAQ

What is a social media posting schedule template?
A reusable pattern of which weekdays, times and platforms you post to, turned into a spreadsheet of individual posting slots for a given month.
How is this different from the general content calendar template?
It is not — it is the exact same generator, this page just frames it around a recurring weekly schedule rather than a one-off monthly plan.
How many days a week should I post?
It depends on the platform and your team’s capacity; a consistent 3-5 days a week most platforms is a common, sustainable starting point — see the per-platform calendar templates for platform-specific starting cadences.
Can I use a different schedule for each platform?
Not in one download — this generator applies the same weekdays and time to every ticked platform. For different cadences per platform, generate the CSV once per platform and merge the files.
Does the schedule account for time zones?
No — the time you enter is treated as your own local wall-clock time for every row; adjust individual rows in your spreadsheet if you post across time zones.
Can I import this schedule directly into SkedCast?
Once you fill in the Caption and Media URL columns, the same CSV shape is accepted by SkedCast’s bulk import, which maps your columns to post fields and validates every row before scheduling.
Is there a social media post schedule template in PDF or Word?
The generator downloads a CSV, not a PDF or Word file directly — but CSV opens cleanly in Excel and Google Sheets, and pastes into a Word table if that is the format your team prefers to work from.
Is this the same as a social media scheduler template?
Yes — "posting schedule template" and "social media scheduler template" describe the same recurring-slot spreadsheet; this page and the generator on it work for either framing.
Can I use this for a YouTube Shorts posting schedule?
Yes — tick YouTube as a platform and it generates the same recurring-slot rows for Shorts; there is no separate Shorts-only mode, so use the caption or content-pillar column to mark which rows are Shorts.
