An Instagram scheduler with no Facebook Page needed

SkedCast is an Instagram scheduler that needs no linked Facebook Page. Meta actually offers two different ways to authorize an app against an Instagram professional account: an older "Facebook Login" flow that does require a linked Page, and a newer "Instagram Login" flow that does not — SkedCast uses the second one, confirmed directly against Meta’s own current developer documentation.

SkedCast connects via Meta’s Instagram-Login flow, which does not require a linked Facebook Page
A separate, older Meta flow ("Facebook Login") does require a Page — that’s not the one used here
The only account requirement is a Professional (Business or Creator) Instagram account
This was verified directly against Meta’s current developer documentation, not assumed

Why this is a common point of confusion

For years, connecting an Instagram Business account to a third-party tool meant first linking it to a Facebook Page — that requirement came from Meta’s older "Facebook Login for Business" integration path, and a lot of still-circulating tutorials and help articles describe that older path as if it’s the only option.

The Instagram scheduler path SkedCast uses, with no Facebook Page

Meta’s newer "Instagram API with Instagram Login" flow authenticates directly against the Instagram professional account and explicitly does not require a Facebook Page to be linked — this is stated directly in Meta’s own developer documentation, and it’s the flow SkedCast’s Instagram connection uses.

What you still need

The account being connected still has to be a Professional account — Business or Creator — since Instagram does not allow personal accounts to publish through any API path, Page or no Page. Converting a personal account to a Professional one is done entirely inside the Instagram app and does not, on its own, require a Facebook Page either.

FAQ

Do I need a Facebook Page to connect Instagram to SkedCast?
No — SkedCast uses Meta’s Instagram-Login connection flow, which does not require a linked Facebook Page. This is confirmed directly against Meta’s own current developer documentation.
Why do some other tools or tutorials say I need a Facebook Page for Instagram?
They’re describing Meta’s older "Facebook Login for Business" flow, which does require a linked Page — a separate, older path from the Instagram-Login flow SkedCast uses.
Do I need a Business account, or does Creator work too?
Either works — Instagram requires a Professional account, which covers both Business and Creator account types; personal accounts cannot publish through the API at all.
Does converting to a Professional account require a Facebook Page?
No — switching a personal Instagram account to Business or Creator is done entirely inside the Instagram app and doesn’t on its own require linking a Facebook Page.
Will I lose any features by not linking a Facebook Page?
Not for scheduling and publishing — the capabilities SkedCast uses (publishing, insights, comment management) are all available through the Instagram-Login flow without a linked Page.
