What is content repurposing?

Content repurposing is turning one piece of content into several different formats or posts — for example, cutting a long video into short clips, pulling quote graphics out of a blog post, or turning a webinar into a week of social captions — so one idea produces multiple pieces of content instead of just one.

What is content repurposing, and when does it pay off?#

It's a different move from content recycling, which re-shares the exact same post again later rather than reshaping it into something new.

A single long-form asset — a webinar recording, a long article — can often be repurposed into a week or more of shorter posts, which is why repurposing tends to get prioritized for content that already required real production effort.

FAQ

Is repurposing worth doing for every piece of content?
It's most worthwhile for content that took real effort to produce (long-form video, in-depth articles) — repurposing a quick, disposable post usually isn't worth the extra work.
